Genesol 30 (Membrane Cleaner)

Description Use

Genesol 30 is a fast acting microbicide for use in cleaning Reverse Osmosis and Nanofiltration membrane systems. It can be used both on and off line to eliminate microbiological fouling.
When used in potable water applications Genesol 30 should only be used ‘off-line’.
• Effective against most micro-organisms
• Fast acting – short contact time needed.
• compatible with all membrane types
• Easily deactivated to harmless by - products
• Can be used to clean pre – treatment systems

Application guide

Genesol 30 is corrosive to carbon steel and certain other metals and alloys. Dosing pumps, tanks and pipe-work should be constructed using acid resistant materials.
Genesol 30 in use
• When used as a membrane cleaner, Genesol 30 should be dosed at 300 mg/L for period’s upto 60 minutes. Following use, the membrane system should be flushed and cleaned using an alkaline detergent cleaner such as Genesol 36 or Genesol 40.
• The best results are obtained when using Genesol 30 within a pH 5.5-7.2
• When used ‘on-line’ Genesol 30 should be dosed at 400 mg/L for 30 minutes.
• Genesol 30 is an effective cleaner for pumps, tanks and pipe work, although its effect is diminished in sand and anthracite filters.
• Residual Genesol can be deactivated by using sodium bisulphate.
